Joe Dortch
Joe Dortch is an archaeologist with extensive consulting experience and wide research expertise. Since 1992 he has managed or advised on c.150 archaeological projects, for research, heritage compliance or community needs, mainly in Western Australia, but also in Victoria, NSW and Queensland. In 2002-4 and 2007-9 Joe was awarded fellowship funding at the Universities of Sydney and Western Australia  to investigate past interaction between Aboriginal societies and their environments, and in 2011-2013 he was appointed an Associate Professor at the University of Western Australia in order to direct Eureka Archaeological Research & Consulting. In the latter role he managed a team undertaking archaeological assessments of major development proposals such as the Browse LNG Plant in the Kimberley, a Rio Tinto rail corridor in the Central Pilbara, and redevelopment of the Cathedral Precinct, Perth CBD. Joe resumed management of Dortch & Cuthbert Pty Ltd in 2013, and retains an adjunct (honorary) research fellowship at UWA.

Dirima Cuthbert
Dirima Cuthbert is an anthropologist and architectural designer with 10 years experience as a consultant anthropologist on more than 50 development projects in the south-west and metropolitan region. She also has experience in delivering building designs. She presently owns and operates a retail business Indi + Em and tutors in architecture and design at the University of Western Australia. Her qualifications in architectural design and anthropology give her unique perspective and ability in integrating cultural values with design principles.  She currently conducts ethnographic fieldwork and background research for Dortch & Cuthbert Pty Ltd.
